SEL has become a major focus for many schools and educators in British Columbia, where Social Responsibility is one of the BC Performance Standards, alongside Reading, Writing and Numeracy, as mandated by the BC Ministry of Education.

The TeachBC website is a dynamic online portal where BC teachers share lesson plans, activities, and ideas, which can be searched by subject, grade level and resource type. This website is publicly accessible, and many of the resources can be downloaded.  There are currently numerous resources on teaching SEL in the classroom available on the website.
