The Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional learning (CASEL) has developed an SEL roadmap to support school leaders in planning for the school-reopening transition.

The roadmap is relationship-centered, and builds upon the schools’ existing efforts around community-building, school climate, student well-being and mental health, trauma-responsive learning environments, restorative practices, and social and emotional competency development.

Within the SEL Roadmap are four SEL Critical Practices, each with three to five activities. Each activity comes with a list of tools to help with implementation.

This roadmap is one of many free resources offered by CASEL CARES, an initiative to equip educators and communities with information and tools to leverage SEL during the COVID pandemic. With the understanding that SEL can play an important role in helping children, adults and communities build resilience, CASEL CARES resources also include free weekly webinars and other resources designed for educators, parents and caregivers.
