This 6-minute video is a 2007 interview at the CASEL Forum with Maurice Elias, a psychology professor at Rutgers University and director of the Rutgers Social-Emotional Learning Lab. In this video, he discusses the central role that social and emotional learning plays for children inside and outside of academics, and how it leaves a lasting impact on students. He also discusses how every school staff member should promote the social, emotional, and academic development of children through collaboration, and his view of the current and future outlook for the field of SEL.
