This Teacher’s Guide, developed by KidsHealth, an online health education resource supported by the Nemours Foundation in the U.S., includes two lessons on suicide prevention for use with early adolescents (grades 6-8). The guide includes discussion questions, activities for students, reproducible materials, as well as several links to articles for youth about suicide, and a description of the related US National Health Education Standards. Stated objectives of the lessons include providing students with opportunities to research facts about suicide, create infographics and posters to share information about suicide with peers, and learn how to speak up when concerned about a depressed or suicidal friend.
