Bringing justice to schools: “The Little Book of Restorative Discipline”
The Little Book of Restorative Discipline for Schools outlines strategies that suggest to teachers how they can implement restorative justice in the classroom and at school. Drawing from theoretical models and practical applications, authors Lorraine Stutzman Amstutz and Judy Mullet outline how teachers can turn incidents with students into opportunities for learning and community-building with the goal of fostering a more positive and just school environment.
Lorraine Stutzman Amstutz is the Director of Mennonite Central Committee’s (MCC) Office on Crime and Justice and has been working in restorative justice programs and similar programs in the United States since 1984. Dr. Judy Mullet is a recently-retired professor of psychology from Eastern Mennonite University, who specialized in restorative discipline in schools, and has conducted workshops and given talks on this topic across the U.S.
